I became your enemy because I tell you the truth
“You can fool some of the people all the time and all the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time.” A. Lincoln
“Europeans would ingest ground up mummies for headaches. And human fat, blood, and bone were used to treat everything from gout to nosebleeds,” Insider wrote.
Mainstream media continues to push the benefits and even insinuate the necessity of cannibalism, a trend that continues to be regurgitated each year.
For example, on December 18th, 2022, Wired retweeted an article they published in 2017 titled “What’s Wrong with Eating People?” The outlet wrote in their tweet: “Human cannibalism has been known to transmit debilitating diseases. But what if it were lab-grown human meat?”
The WinePress previously covered that post, and others like it, in a 2021 report that discusses a Swedish company that floated out the idea of cultivating human flesh in a lab to eat, though the Swedish group tried to say that their ambitions were not real and just wanted to cause a stir. But, based on what outlets like Wired have reported, perhaps it is not much of a joke after all.

But it has not stopped there.
The popular water beverage company Liquid Death briefly launched a project called the “Vegan Cannibal Steakhouse,” which served plant-based meats but were given gag names to pretend as if customers were eating human flesh and drinking blood.
Furthermore, in the remaining days of 2022 another group called the “Human Meat Project” (HMP) advocated that we eat each other to “end world starvation, overpopulation and climate change,” they said.
And then you have The New York Times not refraining themselves from beating around the bush about cannibalism, boldly saying that cannibalism will indeed become normal and accept sooner than people expect.

Other outlets such as Business Insider, now referred to simply as Insider, have too promoted the alleged benefits and normalcy of cannibalism.
In 2018 the outlet published an article claiming that “Cannibalism used to be a popular medical remedy.”
Europeans would ingest ground up mummies for headaches. And human fat, blood, and bone were used to treat everything from gout to nosebleeds.
Insider alleges
But putting the ethics, morality, and charity aside, Insider asserts that it may not be ideal because “human meat is a surprisingly low source of calories compared to other red meat.”
Now, you might think this would actually make human burgers a great low-cal alternative until you remember you’re probably trying to eat humans because you’re starving to death. So, low-cal is the opposite of what you want.
Insider added
Insider goes on to say that “it’s not worth taking the risk — if you can help it,” because for the high risk of contracting all sorts of diseases and ailments, especially if the flesh and blood is ingested raw. They do, however, concede that cooking it is not the greatest either.
Furthermore, Insider suggests that in the U.S. and U.K. such a behavior is not illegal, though it would probably require some illegal acts to obtain the flesh itself.
Insider also touts the idea of “autocannibalism.”
One exception that won’t put you behind bars, is if you eat … yourself! Yup, that’s a thing. It’s called autocannibalism.
The most common example today, called placentophagy, is when a woman eats her placenta after giving birth. The idea is that it can raise energy levels and reduce the risk of postpartum depression by stabilizing hormones. But the science is still out on whether there’s any real benefit.
Regardless, this ancient practice has recently found new life in Western culture. Kim Kardashian and Alicia Silverstone have reportedly done it. And there are numerous US companies that will grind your placenta into a powder so you can take it like any other vitamin supplement.
So, if you have a hankering for human, maybe try some pork instead. After all — that’s what we taste like. Wait … we obviously mean: ACCORDING TO CANNIBALS ANYWAYS!
