I became your enemy because I tell you the truth
“You can fool some of the people all the time and all the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time.” A. Lincoln
Israel President Isaac Herzog called on politicians to “tone it down” as the Left uses increasingly inflammatory rhetoric regarding the new government plans – which is implementing what the people have voted for.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Tuesday evening, January 10, 2023, spoke with President Isaac Herzog and said:
“In a democratic country, one does not arrest the leaders of the opposition, just as one does not call government ministers Nazis, and a Jewish government the Third Reich. Neither does one call on citizens to launch a civil rebellion.”
THE TOLERANCE CAMP CALLS FOR INTOLERANCE AND REJECTION OF DEMOCRACY
“It is time to shake the country.” – Benny Gantz
Yair Lapid turned up the heat again and told his Yesh Atid party that the new government “is extreme regime change” and that the reforms “eliminate democracy,” a way of acknowledging that the left only believes in democracy when the vote suits them, or when it controls the institutions to neutralize it. Lapid promised to continue fighting in the streets in what he called “a war for our home” – an interesting choice of words, in the mouth of the peace camp who refuses to fight the war for the country.
National Unity party leader Benny Gantz said the government’s judicial reform bill could lead to a “civil war.” Urging the public to take to the streets, he added, “It’s time to go out en masse and demonstrate; it’s time to shake the country.” All this to save whatever power they have left.
Otzma Yehudit party representative Almog Cohen echoed the comments of Zvika Fogel, also a member of the party, telling Israel Channel 13 that if the opposition leaders continue “their incitement and desire for bloodshed in the streets – they will be handcuffed.” Netanyahu didn’t like it. Neither did I.
And National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said yesterday that he wants protesters who block roads to be arrested and water cannons to be used against violent protesters, as is the case in Jerusalem against aggressive Haredi protesters.
According to Israel Channel 12, the police have agreed to get tough on left-wing protesters – which, it should be remembered, stands for no-hate, tolerance, diversity, peace and dialogue – when they use Nazi symbols on their protest signs and to confiscate these images.
THE GOAL IS CLEAR: TO TRIGGER A COUP IN THE STREETS AND OVERTHROW THE DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENT
Lapid and his camp say that the government wants to “eliminate democracy.” They are inciting a revolt to force it to reverse its reforms. So who wants to “eliminate democracy” if not Lapid and the Tel Aviv activists, who promise to mobilize en masse the coming Saturday?
Since they have the broadest support from the media, they use the classic propaganda technique of “inversion,” which the USSR perfected so well on the ashes of Nazism: accusing the enemy of your own faults.
CONCLUSION
Yes, the left wants to overthrow, with the assistance of the street, the Netanyahu government, which it has not succeeded in doing in the ballot box, and the media are at helping to relay this fabrication of a “fascist threat” against democracy. The demagogy works rather well, many people let themselves be influenced by this message of hatred, and speak of the danger of the extreme right and of the religious factions.
Let’s take stock
- The left lost power at the ballot box a long time ago, but at least it retained the institutions such as the judiciary, the police, the army, a certain lockdown of Judea Samaria, and it continued to apply its ideology through them.
- This is exactly what new Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir new ministers decided to tackle at the request of the Israeli people, who voted them in November, and ousted the far left Meretz party and the Arabs from the Knesset, the Israeli Congress.
- The Left fears the remaining of its power will be destroyed by the new government. It is losing its head over it, and is ready to do anything – or almost anything – to prevent it from slipping through its fingers.
- If the left loses its influence, part of its cultural victories, which it has largely accumulated up to now, will be called into question.
- With the loss of institutional control, the Ashkenazi socialist old guard’s fight against Zionism and the Jewish state, which it has long wanted to replace with a post-Zionist utopia, will be dealt a possibly fatal blow.
- The camp of good, now the camp of evil, is playing for its survival.
The weeks and months to come will tell whether they still have the power to do harm. They can count on the US Democrats, on Joe Biden, the media, the academy, the world of arts and culture, the universities and schools, and part of the high civil servants, who have infiltrated all the wheels of the administrations.
