I became your enemy because I tell you the truth
“You can fool some of the people all the time and all the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time.” A. Lincoln
The push for cannibalism continues to grow stronger after a head-turning campaign went viral on social media recently. A company called the “Human Meat Project” (HMP) advocates that we each other to “end world starvation, overpopulation and climate change,” the company says.
Welcome to the Human Meat Project, we are the human meat donation program. By donating bodies for human consumption, we are taking action to solve overpopulation, which leads to climate change and the greenhouse effect caused by the mass farming of livestock animals in order to feed the world.
At Human Meat Project, we value every body and every life.
We emphasize the source and origins of our human meat to deliver the diversity of our world and reveal the worrying differences of quality of life across the globe.
Our organization welcomes every nation to give back to the rest of the world. Hand in hand, we can help each other improve living conditions and the environment for everyone through this global movement.
We are calling you, humans, to wake up and take action now. We are not living individually and alone. We need each others to survive. Together we can create a world worth living for. Together we can build a world of humanity and solidarity. Every life is cardinal.
The company says of themselves
According to the Project, they claim that “the practice of cannibalism is not uncommon in living beings,” and is something that has occurred throughout the history of man and amongst the animal kingdom. The further assert that the term ‘cannibal’ was seen as an “ethnic slur” and “derogatory term to describe tribal and native people.”
Therefore, if you decided to donate your organs, body parts, and corpse, you can help “waste, pollution, deforestation” whilst addressing the “overpopulation” problem.
By consuming human meat, we create a change in both our life and the world. By improving the standard quality of life in every country and nation, we can give everyone in the world a good life.
They wrote
The company says that “one body can feed up to 40 people (based on average weight of 55kg/height 165cm).” They also say that the nutritious content of human meat is comparable to if not better than beef, chicken, and pork; and that the texture of the meat is akin to that of pork.
Donations are also meticulously screened and examined to make sure they do not contain a variety of different diseases, health issues, and medications in the flesh.
We will only harvest a whole body from a donor after a natural death has occurred. The donor’s body will then be evaluated to see whether it is up to our standards. If the meat donor is also an organ donor, we will only harvest in accordance with the donor’s request and contact the donor organization for harvesting. If the donor wants to donate certain body parts while alive, we highly advise the donor to consider the lifelong disability that may ensue.
The company adds as a disclaimer
In order to make a donation a detailed 22-point questionnaire is required to be submitted asking specific questions about the body and what part(s) one might want to send in, one’s kindred, one’s gender, health, physical activity, body type, diet, medical concerns, and more.
A “meat donor card” is also provided with a unique code “in case of emergency or if medical action must be taken.”
The HMP also provides a handful of product labels they say are from people who actually donated some of the body parts.
On December 15th the company published two video ads promoting the concept. The comment sections were filled with horrified and flabbergasted responses.
But supposedly this is all one big ‘joke.’ On the Project’s terms and conditions page they say,
This is purely a conceptual art project and will not be acted out in real life.
The Human Meat Project merely provides conceptual artwork. The project and website (www.humanmeatproject.com) contains pages featuring information on the art project, participants’/donators’ information, terms and conditions, consent rights and privacy rights, but the existence of these pages on the Website or Paper form does not and is not intended to be act in a real life nor deliberately/attempting to break the UN and any legal constitution law existing worldwide.
Human Meat Project is a conceptual art project to give an understanding of the importance of accepting any services’ policy and agreements.
The information that is collected and “donated” will supposedly be used “to create an artwork that represents the current society as true as possible and can be accepted by the art world and non-art world.” They do however confess that they recognize there are a ton of “non-art people who are unable to understand or relate with modern artworks.” One of the goals of this project is to purportedly communicate and change the perception as to how some art is viewed.
USA Today reached out to the HMP for comment but did not receive a response. They, like other fact-checkers, rule that the Human Meat Project is not actually handling human meat for consumption.
