When this thing will create, you will no longer need to use any wired chargers. New nanotechnology works like a sponge, absorbs not only the liquid. It sucks out the environment kinetic energy and sends it directly to your smartphone.

The basis of the technology is to use a piezoelectric material that generates electricity in a state of stress. The material is endowed with nanoscopic pores, which makes it a flexible lip.

The official name of this device, “nanogenerator.”

These nanogenerators may one day become part of every smartphone on the planet, or a part of the dashboard of each car, and perhaps a part of every pocket clothes – gadgets are charged directly in it. Moreover, there is potential for use on larger scale, such as in industrial applications.

At least so say researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, who created this amazing nanosponges.
